Democrats are renewing their vow to impede the annual congressional pay raise until the minimum wage is increased, but their options for a successful block during the lame-duck session likely depend on the outcome of the Nov. 7 midterm election. This is the kind of think Democrats need to do more of, and it is amazing that it hasn't come up before. One of the ways for the party to gain traction with voters is to get the message out that they are part of the population, rather than a convenient proxy.
